Big Day
In the two and a half weeks since TJ was born, he’s had only two or three periods when he was truly awake and alert. This morning was by far the best. He smiled real smiles. . .
. . . practised his kung fu moves. . .
. . . opened his fingers in response to mine (takes a long time to get a reaction but he gets there in the end – if the mood is just right). . .
. . . and was fascinated by his own hand.
First roll over

Guess who rolled over today?!?
TJ normally handles tummy time well, but today he immediately shifted his head to the side (over his right arm) and started crying and pushing against the ground with his left hand and knees. The cry was an “I’m trying to do something cry” rather than the usual tired/hungry/upset selection (gotta love being a second-time mum). CJ walked through at just the right moment and we were both impressed by his efforts, then BOOM! he flipped over.
Soon he’ll acquire the vital skills needed to flee his sister’s overwhelming affection. . .
