My pet artist
My friend Mel is an excellent artist, so in a moment of brilliance I asked her to draw me pictures to go with “Worse Things Happen at Sea”. She didn’t just say yes, she got all excited – and she did beautiful work. I have eight pictures, some of which haven’t happened yet in the story – but you can see the first five pictures with the relevent bits of story at: http://twittertales.wordpress.com
I now have 250 twitter followers (a solid start, especially considering it’s only been a month), and have another two interviews coming up soon. And one more school to visit.

Slice and Dice
Cut myself for the second time on the evil coathanger of death (the ‘slice’ of the title).
The ‘dice’ roll of my media progress seems to be going well. It’s all about reaching a tipping point of momentum where people tell their friends, who tell their friends. Definitely not there yet – but the story hasn’t started.
The primary mania period for my twitter tale obsession is long gone – I cried crazily at a family get-together on Friday, and slept about twenty hours on Saturday. Generally I’m doing really well.
I try not to think about how slender my chances at success are – I am literally attempting to make myself famous. It’s not a dignified process
Free Short Story Classes for Canberra Schools
One of the key elements of my plan to use twitter to take over the world:
I’m offering free short story writing classes to Years 5-12 in any Canberra schools. (Naturally there are twitter details on the handout.)
So far three schools have said a definite yes, and others are looking likely. I’m gonna be sooooo tired. The first three Northside schools get their own exclusive writing competitions sponsored by Dymocks Belconne.
I was interviewed by the Canberra Times yesterday, and will be interviewed live on ABC 666 today at 2.20pm.
In other news, I’ve just discovered that Harper Collins will be replying to my most-near-misses-at-major-publishers book, “Stormhunter”, in early August.
