Featherdale Wildlife Park (Sydney)
Amazing day. TJ was delighted by the zoo (despite the intense heat), which I didn’t expect – he slept through the Sea Life Aquarium excursion only a few months ago. How things change! (NOT that I would go to a zoo just for him at this age – you know that if Mum and Dad paid $60 entry just to accompany a baby he’d fall asleep three seconds later, and not wake until closing time.)
Sadly I left my laptop cord in Sydney so I’ll be rationing my computer time for a bit (or using it up tonight and quivering in a corner from then on) until it gets posted back to me. Very very sad.
Chris’ computer is just fine, so I’m sure I’ll just use that when I need to. But it won’t be the same.
Aaaaanyway, here are the TJ zoo pics!
Daddy’s cousins birthday
That’s where we were tonight. This is the “0” of a giant balloon “30”. There were dress-ups on a table and a JUMPING CASTLE outside (no line, no fee. . . and no-one to enforce the “only children” rule!)
Fetch me ma food, woman!
Given a few seconds’ delay between/before mouthfuls of food, TJ will bang the tray table in an efficient communication of his needs. Here are some shots of his delight when he knows food is coming, and an artsy splodge of zucchini goop just a few mouthfuls in.
GROW SOME TEETH, KID.
Food Glorious Food
TJ is REALLY into food (a good thing, because he’s pretty thin). He has five or six bottles a day, and for the last few days he’s been largely unimpressed with mere milk – he’ll drink a bit on and off, then cry until he gets food. Once the food appears, he’s thrilled and vocalises delightedly/impatiently. Today he ate five lots of solids, and he eats amazing quantities too – up to about 5 tablespoons each time. I suspect his weight will shoot up at once.
Without further ado, here’s today’s photo – the monthly tux-and-caterpillar pic.
Wibble Wobble
Not the most stable thing to hold on to, but it’s a good height (and thanks go to Louisette for her steadying hand):
Also, rockin out with a tambourine drum:
PS I love it when a plan comes together
Chris briefly got to eat his dinner with both hands tonight.
First word!
TJ has a word – admittedly lacking slightly in the pronunciation department, but much repeated to his proud Mum’s delight.
It was his sister’s name.
Little Cow
Suddenly TJ can wear size 0, and we have a bunch of new (secondhand) clothes to play with! Yay! (Also, the zucchini went down just fine so we’re all good food-wise.)
Zucchini
TJ seemed unhappy after his taste of rice cereal last Saturday, so we waited a few days then tried again. Again, not happy. So he may be intolerant of rice. After another few days (ie today), I tried him on zucchini (subscribing to the theory that if you give a kid fruit, he’ll expect all food to taste good, and will hate vegies – but to an infant, even zucchini is exciting since he/she doesn’t know better).
Speaking of exciting, TJ’s sleeping patterns are improving rapidly. We might be able to move him to his own room soon (and then move Louisette in with him and I can have a study again!!)
He’s also in the process of discovering his feet: a thrilling new toy that travels with you.
