Motherhood is all about balance
Specifically, how much shopping you can balance on a stroller before it tips over backwards and flings out your bundle of joy.
First time in a pool!
TJ was oh so perky this morning, and has started to do really well in the bouncer. . . rather than always in our arms (unless he’s deeply, deeply asleep). He even fell asleep in it today, which is a first – especially from a wide-awake start.
Then we dropped Louisette at daycare and went for a swim – TJ’s first ever (and he’s not big on baths yet, so it was a mildly risky move). It was also my first swim since giving birth to him. I plan to swim every second day as long as CJ is on leave (not much longer now, sadly), and at least twice a week after that (which will be more complex).
He switched between suspicious, thoughtful, enraged, and apparently asleep!
He quickly grew curious enough to attempt to drink the pool. Apparently it’s genetic.
Nice Mohawk, kid.
The beginning of reading
This is one of those “colours” books that doesn’t have any words. Both kids surprised me – TJ by looking at the book (sometimes), and Louisette by memorising the colours and pictures and “reading” them to TJ while holding the book facing him.
Big strong boy
TJ always, always kicked SO much harder than Lousiette from the womb. He’s proved his strength many times since then, lifting his head within minutes of birth and so on. He’s lifted his head this high several times – I’m glad to have proof to make my boasting even more annoying!
