The castle playground
In Canberra there are a few truly awesome playgrounds that are spoken of by those who’ve grown up here with a happy sigh and a faraway gaze. This one may be my favourite. We call it the castle.
The rest of this entry is at weekend notes.

Oh wow, this looks fantastic! I am always on the lookout for new places to take the children, and I find myself drawn more to places with natural elements (creeks, hiking trails, beaches) than to traditional playgrounds with fascinating, but unemotional play structures. I wish we had a place like this near us!

jaqbuncad: Darn! When I started reading your comment I thought you were a new Canberran and I’d introduced you to a fabulous new place. Too bad.

When I was about 5 or 6 years old, we went there one day, and there was an escaped ferret loose in there. I thought it was hilarious, and a little bit scary. Now I think a little bit eww.
