Girls Gone Metric: She’s Ten Months Old
Yep, just two more months of daily photos to go. . .
Louisette has learned that falling off the couch face-first is something she doesn’t want to do. She has not learned that falling off the couch backwards is something equally unpleasant. But she’s pretty good at the wriggling-style descent these days, and can sometimes even get herself into position (tummy down, feet first) by herself. She has developed two distinct dancing styles, she can drink her own bottle without help, she eats mostly human foods including oatmeal and sandwiches, she feeds herself her own lunch, given half a chance she can and will undress herself and everyone around her, she can turn her musical toys on by herself, she can recognise photos of her Mum and Dad, and she has a couple of cute party tricks up her sleeve – including passing a ball back when it’s been rolled to her. Sometimes she even has good hair days.
See the rest here.
Nine months old
Louisette has now spent more time in the world than in the womb. It seems impossible that she’s only been around the same length of time as I was pregnant – it seems that my life has been full of her grins and giggles and drool forever.
This month was full of adventures – Floriade (twice), swimming (several times), learning to climb stairs, catch a ball, and (almost) stand on her own. You can see all the previous months here.
I snuck in a photo from next month’s lot just because it was so cute (it’s at the end).
Eight months old – and all’s well
This was the month Louisette had her skin tag removed (hence a couple of plaintive hospital photos), and the month it became impossible to hold her still in a standing position – she immediately starts walking (usually giggling maniacally as she does so).
Other months can be seen via here.
Louisette is seven months old
She crawls, and she has her first tooth. The whole world of movement and (soon) chewable food is opening up. She’s like a teenager who just earned her driving license. AND she has another cousin (a girl).
All the other months have links from here.
Half a year!
Can you believe it?!?! Louisette is already six months old. Project 365 (taking a photo every day for a year) is half over. Things continue to change rapidly: she is taking her first crawling steps (legs only), she says, “Mum” when she wants me to come, and she can sit up unsupported quite happily. It’s a terrifying and thrilling time as she gains the ability to actively promote her own self-destruction.
(Earlier photos can be found at one month, two, three, four and five.)
She’s five months old
We’re solidly on solids now, and it’s time for another month of photos. All the rest are linked to here.
One quarter of her life in daily photos
Here is Louisette (not her real name, because this is the internet) from the first, second, third and now fourth month of her life. Last month she visited China and Hong Kong. This month she became obsessed with standing, attempting (unsuccessfully) to crawl, and looking at boys. She also had an ultrasound (just to confirm she’s okay, which she is), and her first play in a sandpit and in a paddle pool.
One-third of her life in pictures
Here is the first month of Louisette’s life, and here is the second.
Here is the third:
As CJ pointed out, she has spent one-sixth of her life travelling.
Comparison: The Dancing Dress
China has a firewall preventing access to wordpress (ah, China you wacky thing you *eyeroll*), so my blog entries will have to wait a little while. I’m not dead, I promise. I will update when I can (there are ways around the firewall, but my access to those will be sporadic at best). In the meantime, here’s something I prepared earlier, posted along with this message via one of my Australian minions:
Here’s Louisette on 19 January this year, at four days of age (and a little jaundiced):
And here she is on 19 March this year, exactly two months later:
I think the photos speak for themselves! Yes, it’s the same dress. Where did those long legs come from?
And here, for convenience, is the same two photos side by side:
Half her lifetime: Photos from month 1 to month 2
Here is the second month-long installment of the daily Louisette pictures. The first month is here. The Project 365 album (with my comments and others) is here. I update it pretty much every day.
When I say, “She gets more beautiful every day” I have proof that it’s the literal truth.
